CAN MEMORIES SLIP INTO OBLIVION? BY SAPPHIRE
Can memories slip into oblivion?
I witnessed this few months ago. It was a horrible experience that can put an end to one's life if there is no strength from within. This is a story of a young woman who committed suicide because she felt that is the answer to her questions.
Tonia had given up on love before she met her 'prince charming' who eventually became a frog. She came across this business tycoon when she went to submit a business proposal to his organization. It was love at first sight, he was adorable, gentle and handsome. A man that every lady out there will want for a husband. She forgot a golden rule that 'you don't fall in love, you grow in love'!. Tonia's love for him was genuine and pure. She didn't love him because of his status. She got carried away with his fake love, lived in series of hallucinations of getting married to him.
Tonia got pregnant four times without her own knowledge. Once she complains of fatigue, her so called 'fiancé' gives her an energy drink which terminates the pregnancy before she realises that she will be a mother soon. This continued till the fourth time. It was fatal, she lost her womb after bleeding for three months. Her doctor revealed to her that she had aborted three pregnancies successfully and the fourth one is the reason behind the incessant bleeding. Tonia was shocked. She was not aware of this. She had to undergo a life saving surgery to get rid of her damaged womb.
While this occurred, ' the love of her life' was already planning to put an end to the relationship. He told her to her face that he had finally fulfilled the promise he made to his dying brother who was killed by his girlfriend and made away with his properties to avenge his death on any woman he meets. Tonia is the tenth victim.
Tonia became miserable. She couldn't live with this shame. She took her own life knowing fully well that she can't forgive herself. If she continues to live her life, can she forget the ordeal?
A drop of faeces on a plate of food, we wiped it off and continued eating. If the eye forgets it, can the mind forget it?
