WHAT IS COURAGE?
Do you remember the last time you showed courage?
Courage is often a measure of our self-esteem and will, Courage is a necessity to overcome fears and achieve a desired goal.
I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear — Nelson Mandela
Fear is something that exists in all of us. There is no hero or any particular courageous figure that is without fear. Being fearless is not required to be courageous, one simply has to look past or overcome their fears to possess this great quality. When overcoming fears and going against the norm, there are always risks involved. There are different types of risks that come about. Someone could risk life or limb, while others risk their reputation. Either risk is serious enough that a person must have courage to endure that particular risk.
Courage is what makes each individuals different from others. It shows in what we believe and the power of our belief over our will. It is always "the difficult path." It could be an unconscious act of boldness, but before all, it is the conscious decision of a person to act despite the danger. Thus, courage is always related to belief, will, and danger. There is no courage whitout risk. There is no heroism without stakes. We cannot speak about courage without thinking about losses and victories. Courage differs from imprudence or madness by its results. The courageous act saves lives, gives hope, it is a rare act of self-scrifice for the good of others. The criminal who steals, or lies for personal gain, kills, or who causes unhappiness to others with his reckless actions, is not a courageous person.
- A hero is no braver than an ordinary man, but he is braver five minutes longer. — Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803 - 1882)
Courage can be exercised in any difficult situation including relationships, a Muslim Man inlove with a Christian Lady for a example, there would be so many pressure, difficulties and diversities, but their ability to look beyond the obstacles, face their fear and follow the path to happiness despite all the obstacles they might face is an act of courage.
Many people have great qualities, but not too many have courage! Fear and courage are brothers, once you have the courage to start then you have the courage to succeed.
Be it in any aspect of life, relationship, business and so on, courage is the ability to face a fear, pain, or a difficult obstacle. Courage is also being brave for you or for someone else. Having courage can sometimes make you fearless! We all need doctors, police, and firefighters in are world to help and protect us.
